A man in Kryvyi Rih assaulted a woman with a cat scratcher, resulting in a split lip and only a fine for his actions.

In Kryvyi Rih, the October District Court was examining a case involving the aggressive behavior of a man from the Odessa region. The conflict arose from a domestic dispute with a woman, which unfortunately escalated beyond control. This was reported by "Vydomo" referencing Pershyi Mistskyi.

During the argument, instead of resolving the situation peacefully, the man resorted to violence. He used a cat scratching post as a weapon—a tool typically meant to protect furniture from scratches, which in this case became a source of trouble.

The blow inflicted on the woman resulted in serious consequences: she suffered a bruise on the mucous membrane of her lower lip and lost half a tooth.

According to the law, this act was classified under part 1 of article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to intentional minor bodily harm. The court, in reviewing the case, took into account all circumstances of the incident as well as the severity of the injuries inflicted.

As a result, the man was fined 850 hryvnias.
