A man stabbed an acquaintance and fled: Police in Shakhtyorsk have apprehended a suspect (PHOTO).

In the city of Shakhterskoye, a quarrel occurred, resulting in a 37-year-old man being admitted to intensive care with severe stab wounds. The incident took place on one of the city streets late at night. This was reported by "Vydomo" citing the police of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The police received a notification from the city hospital regarding the hospitalization of the victim. Staff in the intensive care unit described the patient's condition as critical: multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and chest, extensive blood loss. The preliminary diagnosis indicates penetrating wounds with damage to internal organs.

Officers from Police Station No. 3 of the Synelnykove District Police Department promptly arrived at the scene. An initial examination of the crime scene revealed that the fight occurred on the street, where investigators found traces of blood and the suspected murder weapon – a knife.

During operational search activities, a suspect was detained – a 28-year-old local resident, previously convicted for hooliganism and with a number of administrative offenses related to alcohol consumption.

The arrest was made without resistance, and the suspect was taken to the police station for questioning. Currently, the suspect is in custody. He has been charged with causing serious bodily harm, which carries severe penalties.

The health condition of the 37-year-old man remains critical as doctors fight for his life.
