In Dnipropetrovsk region, a man killed his own mother with a brick (PHOTO).

In the Samara district, police have apprehended a 50-year-old suspect in the brutal murder of his mother. This was reported by "Vydomo," citing the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The crime occurred on February 26 at around two o'clock in the morning in a village of the Samara district. Police established that during a quarrel, the assailant struck his mother with a brick and a stick, delivering fatal blows. The 75-year-old woman died at the scene from her injuries.

Law enforcement officials detained the man under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The murder weapon and other physical evidence were seized by the police and sent for examination.

Investigators, in coordination with the Samara District Prosecutor's Office, have informed the suspect of his charges under part 1 of Article 115 (intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The decision regarding the measure of restraint is being considered. The investigation is ongoing.
