In Pavlograd, the court has suspended the mayor of Ternovka, Vitaliy Tarelkin, from performing his duties until April 21, 2025, reports "Vидомо" citing Behemoth.
The mayor of Ternovka is suspected of corruption. According to court documents, he has not received a salary since May 2024. Over the past 10 months, the city head is ready to return to his position but must come to terms with a loss of about 1.5 million UAH in unpaid wages. This process cannot be halted.
During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that while serving as the mayor of Ternovka, he committed criminal offenses through the abuse of power and official position to misappropriate funds from the KP "Ternovskoye Housing and Communal Enterprise" of the Ternovka City Council, as confirmed by evidence collected during the pre-trial investigation.
The suspects knowingly submitted false information in official documents regarding the cost and quality of construction materials. They also reported a quantity of equipment that was not actually used during the repairs. Subsequently, the completed work reports were submitted to the treasury service, leading to an unjustified transfer of budget funds to the account of the LLC. As a result of the illegal actions of the suspects, the state suffered damages exceeding 2 million UAH.
Furthermore, according to the prosecutor, in office he could unlawfully influence subordinate employees and continue to manage budgetary funds, thereby potentially misappropriating them again.
