A court in Dnipro sentenced a pedophile to 13 years in prison for the rape of his stepdaughter, delivering a harsh verdict.

In Dnipropetrovsk region, a high-profile court case has concluded with a just verdict for a 43-year-old local resident. The man has been found guilty of raping his 9-year-old stepdaughter and sentenced to 13 years in prison. This information was reported by "Vydomo" citing the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.

This decision, initially rendered by the Krasnogvardeyskyi District Court in July 2024, was upheld by the Dnipro Court of Appeals in December of the same year, despite the defense's appeal. As a result, the verdict has become legally binding, reaffirming the commitment of law enforcement to combat sexual crimes against children.

The details of the case reveal the appalling cruelty and cynicism of the accused. The investigation established that the man, taking advantage of his wife's absence from home, used physical force against the 9-year-old girl, committing sexual acts. This crime, classified under part 4 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, carries severe penalties, and the imposed sentence is fully commensurate with the gravity of the offense.
