How does the payment system work?
In Poland, all car owners with a radio receiver installed are required to pay a subscription fee of 8.7 zlotys per month (approximately 87 hryvnias). Ignoring this obligation can result in fines.
Starting in 2025, control measures are set to be strengthened: special inspectors will be able to photograph vehicles with radio receivers on the streets. The fine is 1305 zlotys (around 13,000 hryvnias). It is important to note that the mere presence of the device is not relevant—the fine is imposed even if the device is not in use.
Who is exempt from the fee?
There are exceptions for certain categories of individuals. Exemptions from the radio fee apply to:
- individuals over 75 years of age;
- people with disabilities;
- those receiving social assistance.
