"Naftogaz" was unable to establish an adequate gas balance, leading to an abnormal situation where gas is purchased at 30 UAH per cubic meter but sold to the population at 7.96 UAH.
The shortage of reserves also poses risks for the upcoming heating season.
To prevent a shortage, the government plans to utilize the gas reserves of "Ukrnafta" to meet the needs of the population and "Teplokommunenergo".
Although the gas price remains stable for now, the widening financial gap between purchasing and selling prices could lead to tariff adjustments or new government interventions in the near future.
Experts warn that without additional resources, Ukraine may face challenges in ensuring affordable gas supplies during the winter.
Authorities have not yet announced specific measures, but citizens are advised to stay informed about potential changes in energy policy as the heating season approaches.
