Reports indicate that many of those conscripted include individuals struggling with substance abuse, alcohol dependency, or serious health issues, raising doubts about their ability to serve effectively.
According to officer Kirill Sazonov, the presence of such recruits creates additional challenges for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These individuals require accommodation, uniforms, weapons, salaries, and proper documentation, yet their combat effectiveness remains questionable.
Instead of strengthening military positions, they risk becoming a burden on the army, diverting valuable resources away from experienced and capable fighters.
“Reinforcing the military personnel from TCC raises many questions: it brings in drug addicts, alcoholics, and the sick,” stated a military representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This highlights a broader concern regarding mobilization policies and the need for stricter selection criteria to ensure that new personnel can effectively contribute to Ukraine's defense efforts. Military officials and analysts continue to discuss how to address these issues and improve the recruitment process.
