According to analyst Maksym Hopka from the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club, as reported by "UNIAN," prices in retail chains have increased by 2-3 hryvnias per kilogram over the past month. Currently, potatoes are selling for approximately 34-36 UAH/kg, although there are prices that are much higher.
Hopka predicts that prices may rise again in March-April. If imported potatoes remain expensive or scarce, the price could reach 38-39 UAH/kg by early spring.
Additionally, according to the State Statistics Service, the average price for a kilogram of potatoes in December 2024 was 29.74 UAH.
Furthermore, it is reported that over the past week, vegetable prices in Ukraine have changed:
Onions have decreased in price due to deteriorating storage quality.
Carrots have also become cheaper.
Cucumbers, sweet peppers, and tomatoes have increased in price.
In the fruit segment, oranges and apples have become less expensive.
As market fluctuations continue, further changes in food prices are expected in the coming months.
