Interestingly, the number of supplying countries has decreased from 20 to 16, while the share of the top five suppliers has risen from 75% to 93%. One of the most notable events in the market has been the competition between Greece and Romania for the Ukrainian market. Greece showed the highest growth, increasing its supplies by more than 2.7 times — to 1.36 million tons. However, despite this success, the future of Greek supplies remains uncertain due to high prices.

In 2024, there has also been a trend of declining global oil prices. The average price per barrel was $75, significantly lower than in 2022 when it was nearly $100, and even lower than in 2023 at $82. Global events, such as increased oil production in the USA, are also influencing prices, which could lead to further declines in global prices.

Consolidation processes are occurring in the Ukrainian domestic market among importers. The number of companies engaged in fuel imports has decreased from 318 to 185, while the share of the top ten importers has increased from 51% to 56%. The leader in import volume is the company OKKO, which supplied 789 thousand tons of diesel fuel.
