The supply tariff itself remains unchanged; however, the number of cubic meters that consumers must pay for on a monthly basis has been adjusted.
Ukrainians pay a fixed fee for supply, which is reviewed annually. In 2024, the charges were based on gas consumption from October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023. In 2025, the payment will reflect gas consumption from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.
The supply fee consists of two main components: the tariff rate for supply and the volume of gas consumed, with the total amount calculated by multiplying these two figures. Although the supply tariff does not change due to a price increase moratorium during the martial law period, the level of gas consumption fluctuates, which affects the final cost of supply.
Consumers can check their specific supply tariff either on their regional gas distribution authority's website or in their payment documents. In some cases, regional tariffs are also compiled in tables showing the rates in hryvnias per cubic meter.
For instance, according to utility consumption norms, heating one square meter of living space typically requires 5 cubic meters of gas, with variations depending on the region. A house of 100 square meters may consume about 500 cubic meters monthly for heating during the winter season. Additionally, a household of three might use around 31.5 cubic meters of gas each month for cooking and heating water.
During the cold months (from October to April), such a family will consume approximately 531.5 cubic meters monthly, while consumption in the warm months (from May to September) will drop to 31.5 cubic meters.
This means that the annual gas consumption is about 3,878 cubic meters, averaging 323.1 cubic meters per month. The delivery cost is calculated based on this average monthly value and depends on the regional tariff rate.
