Currently, the ratio stands at one worker supporting one pensioner, which sharply contrasts with European countries where three workers typically support one pensioner.
Savchenko noted that while the migration of pensioners to countries like Poland or Germany may seem advantageous at first glance, it has a negative impact on Ukraine's economy.
This is because the pensions paid by the Ukrainian government are then spent abroad, further draining the country's financial resources.
To address these issues, the economist emphasized the urgent need for tax reform. He advocates for a simpler, more business-friendly tax system to stimulate investment and support job creation, which are crucial for economic growth and stability.
