Popenko explained that by limiting judges' pensions, particularly in the Lviv region, the Pension Fund of Ukraine could accumulate enough resources to increase pensions for regular retirees.
Specifically, he calculated that reducing judges' pensions to a maximum of 20,000 hryvnias could generate an additional 14,790,000 hryvnias per month, which would be sufficient to raise pensions by 1,000 hryvnias for approximately 14,790 pensioners.
On a national scale, Popenko estimated that 384,000 retirees could benefit from this measure if judges' pensions were reduced.

He emphasized that this is a rough estimate that does not take into account other factors, such as pensions for disabled prosecutors. Therefore, the actual number of retirees who could receive an increase might be significantly higher.
Popenko also noted that for such a pension increase to be possible, it is crucial to optimize the operations of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. He believes that after implementing the necessary reforms, it would be easy to raise pensions for ordinary retirees by 1,000 hryvnias per month.
