This adjustment is part of a phased plan established by law to align excise rates with European standards, with annual increases scheduled until 2028.
Previously, the excise duty on gasoline was €242.6 per 1,000 liters, diesel fuel was taxed at €177.6, and gas at €148. According to the new rates for 2025, the excise on gasoline has risen to €271.7, on diesel fuel to €215.7, and on gas to €173 per 1,000 liters.
As a result, consumers will immediately notice an impact on fuel prices:
Gasoline: +1.50 UAH per liter.
Diesel fuel: +2 UAH per liter.
Gas: +1.30 UAH per liter.
This increase reflects the government's efforts to align taxation with European norms, but it is expected to have a significant impact on fuel costs for consumers across the country.
