The new provisions ensure that the amount of the subsidy will not be reduced if a household consumes less electricity due to outages. Recipients will continue to receive assistance at the initially determined level, regardless of decreased consumption.

Additionally, the financial threshold for significant purchases affecting subsidy eligibility has been increased. Previously, expenses exceeding 50,000 hryvnias could disqualify a recipient from receiving a subsidy, but this limit has now been doubled to 100,000 hryvnias.

Another important change concerns the purchase of electricity-generating equipment.

If a household acquires a generator for electricity production, these expenses will not affect its subsidy eligibility, provided that the cost of the generator or the amount of the one-time loan payment does not exceed 150,000 hryvnias.

Furthermore, starting in mid-January, a new type of housing subsidy will be introduced to assist internally displaced persons. This subsidy will be available in certain regions for those whose rent expenses exceed 30% of their household income.

These legislative changes aim to better support Ukrainian families during ongoing disruptions in the provision of essential services while also addressing the financial challenges many citizens face.
