Disability deferments apply to individuals classified in groups 1, 2, and 3 of disability, ensuring that mandatory mobilization is not an option for these individuals.
This provision has been in effect since the onset of the war, and no changes are anticipated in 2025. However, individuals who received their disability documentation after February 24, 2022, are required to report to the TCK and SP for a reevaluation to confirm their status.
Although there were speculations at the end of 2024 regarding the cancellation of deferments for those in group 3 of disability, no such decision has been made. As a result, the mobilization of individuals with any recognized group of disability remains prohibited.
Nevertheless, Ukrainians with disabilities can voluntarily enlist in military service under contract. To do so, they must undergo a military medical commission to assess their fitness for service and obtain approval.
