One of the suspects in the murder of a resident of Pavlograd stated that he does not remember the circumstances of the crime.

In Pavlograd, the court has extended the detention period of two servicemen for another two months. These individuals are accused of killing a woman during a gathering last October and subsequently transporting her body to a wooded area where they set it on fire, as reported by "Vідомо" citing "Бегемот".

The investigation revealed that a 26-year-old and a 33-year-old serviceman invited a 45-year-old woman to an apartment in one of Pavlograd's buildings. However, during the gathering, a verbal conflict arose between the woman and the men. The older man became so offended that he drew a pistol and fired in the direction of the woman, but the bullet struck the wall.

The frightened woman grabbed a folding knife from the table for self-defense, but at that moment, the younger serviceman struck her on the head with a stool. This allowed the 33-year-old man to wrest the knife from her hands and begin to stab her in the neck and chest. The woman succumbed to her injuries.

Afterward, the men transported her to a wooded area, doused her with a flammable substance, and set her on fire near house No. 36 on Promyslovaya Street.

However, during the court hearing, the alleged murderer claimed that he did not shoot at anyone and was drunk asleep. He stated that when he was awakened, he helped his friend transport the body while still under the influence of alcohol. When his friend woke him, he saw the bloody body but did not know if she was alive or dead. His friend said they needed a car, so he drove his vehicle to the entrance. When he returned to the apartment, he drank more alcohol and went back to sleep.

Taking this into account, he asserted that his guilt in the murder had not been proven and that he should be released. However, the court extended his detention until March, and the case will continue to be reviewed.
