Recently, patrol officers in Kryvyi Rih received a call about hooliganism on their tablet. A man reported that he had a gunshot wound. This was reported by "Vydomo" referencing the Patrol Police of Kryvyi Rih.
The patrol and medical teams arrived at the designated address and found the complainant. The paramedics examined the man but found no injuries or damages.
It turned out that the man had previously been repeatedly held administratively responsible under Article 183 (Knowingly False Call to Emergency Services) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
"A not funny joke cost the citizen a ruling under Article 183 (Knowingly False Call to Emergency Services) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, and wasted precious time for the patrol officers, which they could have used to assist those in genuine need," the statement said.
It is noteworthy that under current legislation, making a false call to the police, ambulance, and other emergency services carries a penalty in the form of a fine ranging from 850 to 3400 hryvnias.
