The police of the Zhytomyr region apprehended a man who removed a wedding ring from the finger of the deceased tank soldier Eduard Roshko, a member of the 17th Brigade, in the morgue, as reported by "Vydomo".
Recently, during the funeral ceremony, the soldier's wife noticed that the wedding ring was missing from his hand. She sought assistance from the police, convinced that the gold ornament was present before the body was placed in the morgue.
Consequently, law enforcement officials determined that a morgue employee, who was preparing the fallen soldier's body for burial, was involved in the ring's disappearance. The perpetrator used pliers to cut the gold ornament off the finger of the defender.
During operational activities, officers from Police Station No. 1 (Malyn city) of the Korosten District Police Department located the stolen jewelry in one of the local pawn shops.
Investigators have informed the suspect of charges under Part 3 of Article 297 (Desecration of a grave, other burial sites, or the body of a deceased person) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Currently, a decision is being made regarding the imposition of a preventive measure.
