U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he intends to make history as the leader who will end the war in Ukraine. During a speech in Miami on February 19, he remarked that over the past three years, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has allegedly not taken significant steps towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

This was reported by Glavpost, referring to the YouTube channel of the White House.

Trump emphasized that his administration is actively negotiating to end the war and that he is the one capable of reaching an agreement that would satisfy both parties.

“We are successfully negotiating how to put an end to the war with Russia. And only the Trump administration can achieve this, even Putin acknowledged it,” he stated.

According to Trump, Zelensky has not taken any real actions towards negotiations, which raises questions for him.

“I don’t know what Zelensky wants: for the money to keep coming? He was upset that he wasn’t invited to Saudi Arabia… But in three years, he hasn’t organized a single meeting,” he noted.

The former president also expressed confidence that his main achievement would be establishing peace.

“I hope my greatest legacy will be that I achieved peace. I will go down in history as a peacemaker,” he said.

In conclusion of his speech, Trump stated that a new phase of development is beginning for the U.S., which he called “the golden age of America.”

Additionally, he confirmed the possibility of a meeting with Vladimir Putin by the end of the month to discuss further steps for conflict resolution.
