The prospects for negotiations are reported by Main Post, citing a Telegram channel of TASS.
“Putin has repeatedly stated his openness to contacts with international leaders, including US President Donald Trump. The president has mentioned this several times, and we have also emphasized it multiple times. No special conditions are required for such a meeting,” Peskov noted.
Nevertheless, the press secretary clarified that, at the moment, there are no specific agreements regarding the meeting.
“So far, there is no specific information, but possibly with Trump's return to the White House, certain movements in this direction may begin,” he added.
The Kremlin insists on dialogue as a means to resolve existing international issues. Peskov emphasized that the key factor for holding a meeting is the willingness of both sides not only to discuss but also to seek ways to address pressing issues.
Statements from Moscow highlight Russia's desire to maintain communication channels with Washington amid global challenges. However, it remains unclear how much this rhetoric aligns with the actual intentions of the parties and the current political agenda.
