One of the symbols of the rally was a 262-meter Ukrainian flag unfurled by demonstrators. Support was expressed by representatives of the Paris city hall, senators, and deputies. The Ukrainian ambassador to France, Vadym Omelchenko, emphasized that "the unwavering solidarity of the French with Ukraine has been felt for all three years." He thanked France for its assistance in military and diplomatic spheres, highlighting the supply of weapons, including Caesar howitzers, Scalp missiles, and Mirage fighters.
At the Place de la République, activists from the Femen movement held a demonstration with the slogan: "If Russia stops fighting, there will be no war. If Ukraine stops fighting, there will be no Europe." Calls were also made for the French government to expedite the unfreezing of Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine and to increase military support.
The rally concluded with a concert by Serhiy Vasilyuk, the lead singer of the Ukrainian band "Tінь Сонця," and a fundraiser for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, at Notre-Dame de Paris, Archbishop Laurent Ulrich led a mass in memory of the war victims.
Solidarity events are planned not only in Paris – 52 rallies in support of Ukraine will take place across France.
