Vandals hurled a brick at a tram's windshield in Kryvyi Rih, narrowly preventing a derailment of the high-speed tram.

The driver's hands were badly injured by glass shards, and there were passengers in the tram at the time of the incident.

On October 23, an outrageous act of vandalism occurred in Kryvyi Rih, resulting in multiple minor injuries for a public transport driver. This was reported by "Vідомо" referencing the "Рудана" portal.

Around 7:00 PM, as a high-speed tram was exiting the tunnel on Elektrozavodska Street in the Zarichne area, an assailant forcefully threw a brick at the driver's windshield. It shattered into sharp fragments, causing numerous cuts to the 52-year-old female driver. Preliminary reports indicate that she sustained cuts of varying depths on her hands that require medical attention.

At the time of the incident, there were passengers inside the tram. Fortunately, due to her professionalism and quick response, the tram did not derail, preventing a serious accident.

The damaged tram has been taken to the depot for repair work.

Law enforcement agencies are investigating this incident. The police are gathering witness statements, reviewing footage from surveillance cameras, exploring various versions of the event, and searching for the perpetrator.

If apprehended, the vandal will face criminal charges, the severity of which will be determined by the court.
