The Kryvyi Rih court has fined a local resident several thousand hryvnias for fraud related to fence installation. This is stated in the verdict from the Kryvyi Rih Central City Court, as reported by "Vidomo".
According to the case materials, the man joined a "village chat" community on the Viber messenger, where individuals post advertisements for various services and jobs. He posted an ad offering construction services, despite lacking both the skills and the intention to provide these services.
The victim contacted him. The man assured her that he could install the fence. He also mentioned that a deposit of 9,000 hryvnias was needed to purchase materials.
Convinced of his honest intentions, the woman initially transferred 5,000 hryvnias for the materials, and two days later, she sent another 4,000 hryvnias.
Subsequently, the man did nothing but misappropriate the funds. He had no plans to install the fence.
In court, he admitted his guilt. He was found guilty of fraud (part 1 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The penalty imposed was a fine of 34,000 hryvnias.
