In Kryvyi Rih, a teenager who had been repeatedly subjected to abuse by his mother and stepfather was compelled to report the mistreatment to the school principal. This is mentioned in the ruling of the Dzerzhinsky Court of Kryvyi Rih, as reported by "Vidomo".
In May 2024, the principal of the Kryvyi Rih school contacted the police, stating that a student had come to the administration, suffering from ongoing violence at the hands of his mother and stepfather.
Investigations confirmed that the boy had been beaten by his stepfather. According to him, such incidents occurred regularly. The teenager feared for his life and health and refused to return home.
The child's mother declined to file a complaint against the man to hold him accountable. Additionally, she refused to take her son home and agreed to be stripped of her parental rights. She also noted that she was unemployed and had been found guilty of drug-related offenses several times.
The commission examined the case and determined that the mother had not changed her behavior, showed no interest in the child's life, health, or development, and made no attempts to regain custody of her son.
The court deprived the woman of her parental rights. The boy was placed in the care of guardianship authorities.
Furthermore, the woman is required to pay child support to the future guardian until her son reaches adulthood.
