A resident of Kryvyi Rih, who had multiple prior convictions, while intoxicated, reported a supposed murder to the police, which turned out to be false. He faced consequences for his actions. This is stated in the verdict of the Kryvyi Rih District Court, as reported by "Vydomo".
The incident occurred in July 2024. In the evening, after consuming alcohol, the man, motivated by hooliganism, called the emergency number "102" to report a murder. Several police vehicles responded to the call.
While by the roadside, the man approached one of the vehicles. Using foul language towards the officers and ignoring their demands to stop, the troublemaker struck the windshield of a police Renault Duster with a wooden stick.
This act intentionally damaged the National Police vehicle, which is valued at nearly 980 thousand hryvnias. The damage amounted to 3,158 hryvnias.
In court, the man expressed genuine remorse, which was considered a mitigating factor. His intoxicated state at the time of the crime was an aggravating circumstance.
The resident of Kryvyi Rih was found guilty of hooliganism (part 1 of article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sentence was 2 years of imprisonment. Considering his previous unserved sentences, the man received a total of 7 years behind bars.
