In Kryvyi Rih, the number of drunk drivers has nearly doubled in just one month.

In October, the police in Kryvyi Rih reported nearly double the number of intoxicated drivers compared to September. This was reported by the patrol police of Kryvyi Rih, as conveyed by "Vidomo".

Last month, 375 protocols were issued for driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other substances. In September, the number of apprehended drivers was 190.

According to the head of the Kryvyi Rih District State Administration, Yevhen Sitnichenko, just last week, 72 intoxicated drivers were detected in the city.

As is known, for this violation, offenders will face fines:

• for the first offense: 17,000 hryvnias and a one-year driving ban;

• for a repeat offense within a year: 34,000 hryvnias and a three-year driving ban with the possible seizure of the vehicle, or an administrative arrest for 10 days with a three-year driving ban and vehicle seizure, with or without compensation;

• for a third offense: 51,000 hryvnias and a ten-year driving ban with vehicle confiscation, or an administrative arrest for 15 days with a ten-year driving ban and vehicle confiscation.
