In Dnipro, a driver was apprehended after fatally hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene.

Police have detained a 46-year-old man for causing a fatal traffic accident in Dnipro. This was reported by "Vydomo" citing the National Police of Dnipropetrovsk Region.

The road traffic incident occurred on October 22 at 11:30 PM on Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi Street in Dnipro. The driver of a Hyundai Tucson struck a 32-year-old pedestrian and then fled the scene. As a result of the accident, the victim passed away.

The following morning, patrol police discovered the vehicle on Dmytro Dontsov Street in Dnipro. The perpetrator of the fatal accident was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation.

Documents regarding this incident have been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules or operation of transport by persons managing vehicles). He faces up to 8 years in prison.
