In Dnipro, the director and former director of the municipal enterprise DGS, along with four entrepreneurs, are suspected of embezzling over 5.3 million UAH intended for the construction of children's playgrounds, reports "Vydomo" citing Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, the officials devised a scheme to misappropriate budget funds for the improvement of children's and sports playgrounds in various areas of Dnipro, involving four entrepreneurs in the process.

The officials entered into a series of contracts with contractors for the installation of rubber surfaces, restoration of concrete work, and paving elements. Subsequently, they falsified and approved false information in official documents regarding the cost of construction materials and the volume of completed work.

During searches at their residences and workplaces, mobile phones, computer equipment, stamps, and documentation were seized.

The suspects have already been formally charged. They are accused of misappropriating someone else's property by abusing their official position and forging official documents, committed in collusion by a group of individuals.

The question of applying preventive measures against the offenders is currently being considered.
