Stability in lard prices, but with a significant gap between chains

Lard, an iconic product of Ukrainian cuisine, has maintained its average price at 234 UAH per kilogram. However, it is important to note that the difference between retail chains is considerable. The cheapest option can be found at Megamarket for 189 UAH/kg, while at Novus, the same product costs as much as 279 UAH/kg.

Eggs have become more affordable

The most pleasant news for Ukrainians is the decrease in chicken egg prices. For instance, popular "Nasedka" eggs (10 pcs.) have dropped in price from 78.40 UAH to 62.30 UAH. "Yasensvit" also pleased consumers - their 10-pack price decreased from 78.06 to 69.10 UAH. Prices have also fallen for larger packages: 18 pcs. went from 135.09 UAH to 120.27 UAH, while 30 pcs. decreased from 235.90 UAH to 200.55 UAH.

Bread is gradually becoming more expensive

In contrast to eggs, bread is showing a tendency to increase in price. Specifically, sliced wheat bread (650 g) has risen in price from 37.49 to 38.75 UAH. The cost of "Tsar Khleb" bread (600 g) has increased even more - from 36.57 UAH to 40.24 UAH, which is approximately a 10% increase.

What does this mean for consumers?

The decrease in egg prices is a positive signal for Ukrainian families, as this product is often used in cooking. At the same time, the stability in lard prices and the slight increase in bread costs indicate a relative balance in the food market.
