In Dnipropetrovsk region, a commander was exposed for constructing houses instead of fulfilling his military duties.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a military unit commander has been exposed for forcing his subordinates to construct personal real estate instead of performing their duties, reports "Vідомо" citing the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Eastern Region.

The lieutenant colonel abused his official position and, from 2022 to 2024, had five of his subordinates build two two-story houses.

The construction was carried out from the foundation up and included the development of the surrounding area. During the time these servicemen were effectively absent from military duty, they were paid over 2.5 million UAH for their involvement in this construction.

During 12 searches at the home and workplace of the military leader and his subordinates, documents regarding the salaries paid to the servicemen, information about their daily assignments, personal files, mobile phones, and construction notes were seized.

Currently, the suspect has been placed in custody with the option for bail.
