According to the updated prices, the cost of school meals will increase by 10 hryvnias, rising from 40 to 50 hryvnias per child for residents of Svalyava and the Mukachevo district in the Transcarpathian region. The cost of meals in kindergartens will increase by 5 hryvnias, amounting to 65 hryvnias per day.
The price hike will primarily affect students in grades 5-11 who do not belong to subsidized categories.

However, children in grades 1-4 will continue to receive free meals throughout 2025, as the government has allocated 2.83 billion hryvnias in subsidies for primary school students' meals. These funds have been distributed among community budgets, ensuring the continuation of free meals for younger students.
The adjustments reflect efforts to maintain the quality of food services amid rising prices and to provide financial support to families with young children.
