Four Ukrainian citizens who intended to cross the Ukrainian-Moldovan border were detained by border guards from the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky detachment on the outskirts of the village of Yasky in the Odessa region. This was reported by the press center of the Southern Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, as conveyed by "Vydomo".
Residents of Dnipropetrovsk explained that, lacking stable income, they decided to seek a better life abroad. To organize their journey to Moldova, the men relied on advice from social media. In one of the messaging apps, they were offered a foreign route for 500 US dollars. The route involved traversing wetlands, thickets, and two rivers – Turunchuk and Dniester.
After paying the fee, the travelers reached the border area and split into two groups. One of the men even chose to illegally cross the border on his birthday.
However, instead of the usual guests and festive table, there were three fugitives and a table where protocols were drawn up for administrative offenses under Article 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses for "Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border".
