In Kryvyi Rih, police have shut down a drug supply channel to a correctional facility. This is reported by "Vidomo," referencing the Main Directorate of National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region.
Criminal police operatives discovered that a 24-year-old inmate, known as the "watchman," had organized the drug business. The man, convicted for causing serious bodily harm, arranged the supply and sale of marijuana to fellow inmates.
To ensure a complete drug supply cycle, the inmates involved their relatives on the outside, who purchased wholesale quantities of cannabis using postal services. They then threw the drugs over the prison fence to distribute the "goods" among the convicts.
Law enforcement officials exposed the "watchman" and other members of the criminal group: six inmates and three individuals on the outside.
On November 26, operatives, alongside dog handlers and special forces, in cooperation with correctional facility staff, conducted a series of searches in the inmates' rooms and at the residences of their accomplices. During the searches, bundles of narcotic substances, handwritten notes, bank cards, and other evidence of criminal activity were seized.
The organizer of the illegal drug trafficking to the correctional facility has been notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
