A journalist from the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine and an activist of the "Money for the Armed Forces" campaign filed complaints with the police regarding a conflict outside the Dnipro City Council involving a deputy on October 23, as reported by "Vідомо" referencing the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, on October 23, 2024, the journalist and public activists arrived at the Dnipro City Council during a regular session to communicate with the deputies, but a staff member of the City Council did not allow the journalist into the session hall and locked him in a nearby room.
Additionally, a city council deputy shoved an activist in the face during the peaceful demonstration.
Currently, criminal proceedings have been initiated concerning the obstruction of lawful professional activities of journalists and the intentional commission of violent acts that caused physical pain but did not result in bodily harm. Investigative actions are ongoing.
