A tragedy has struck in the city of Nikopol, claiming the life of Lyudmila Grigorievna Demchenko, a well-known and respected cultural figure. Her name was familiar to many residents of the city. For many years, Lyudmila Grigorievna worked at the KSK NZF (Cultural and Sports Complex of the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant), delighting the townspeople with her talent on stage during city celebrations, concerts, and other cultural events. This was reported by "Vidomo," citing Nikopolnews.
Her vibrant voice, filled with warmth and sincerity, resonated at numerous celebrations, creating an atmosphere of joy and unity. In recent years, Lyudmila Demchenko sang in the choir at the Church of Peter Kalnyshensky, contributing to the spiritual life of the city. Even in retirement, she remained incredibly active and cheerful, as if time had no power over her tireless spirit and talent. It seemed her energy was inexhaustible, and her optimism boundless.
Her death was the result of a barbaric shelling by Russian troops. A shell exploded right before the eyes of children celebrating a birthday at one of the city's cafés. This horrifying scene will forever remain etched in the memories of witnesses: a sharp explosion, screams, bloodied people, among whom was a deceased man, along with five others injured.
Natalia Belyakina, a witness to the tragedy and an acquaintance of the deceased, spoke of the incident with bitterness and outrage: "The children were in hysteria. Barbarians, orcs, scoundrels are attacking peaceful pensioners and children."
The death of Lyudmila Demchenko is a profound loss and a blow to the cultural life of the city, its spirit, and its uniqueness.
Earlier, we reported that during the shelling of Nikopol, Russians hit a medical facility.
