Promised to assist with shopping but ended up stealing: a woman deceived a pensioner in Dnipropetrovsk region.

Police in Pyatykhatky uncovered a suspect who took advantage of a pensioner's trust and stole 10,000 hryvnias from his card. This was reported by "Vidomo" referencing the National Police of Dnipropetrovsk region.

Authorities determined that the 41-year-old suspect had repeatedly assisted the elderly man in making purchases from online stores, thus she was aware of the victim's PIN code in the mobile application. As a result, the perpetrator transferred his funds to her personal account without the man's knowledge. She spent the money for her own needs.

The suspect has been charged with theft under part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and unauthorized interference with the functioning of information (automated) systems under part 1 of Article 361 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
