Oleg Popenko, head of the Union of Consumers of Utility Services, discussed the anticipated price increases during his presentation on RanoK.LIVE.
Popenko emphasized that electricity plays a crucial role in the overall cost structure of many services, meaning that tariff hikes will affect a wide range of goods and services. One of the sectors that will be most severely impacted is utilities, particularly water supply, where electricity expenses account for up to 40-45% of total costs.
As energy prices rise, the increase in operational costs for service providers is likely to lead to higher expenses for consumers. Popenko warned that this price surge will not be confined to just one or two industries, but will resonate throughout the entire economy, impacting everything from daily necessities to utility services.
This rise in electricity tariffs highlights the increasing financial pressure on Ukrainian consumers and businesses. As energy costs continue to escalate, the repercussions are expected to be felt across all sectors, raising concerns about affordability and economic stability in the country.
