In Nikopol, a medical professional was apprehended for promising assistance in obtaining a "fake" disability certificate.

In Dnipropetrovsk region, law enforcement authorities apprehended a doctor who heads one of the departments of a local municipal medical institution. She has been charged with receiving unlawful benefits related to the promise of facilitating illegal acquisition of disability status. This was reported by "Vydamo" citing NGO "Prykhyst".

According to the investigation materials, the woman, abusing her official position, demanded a substantial sum of money from a citizen—5,000 US dollars and 10,000 hryvnias—in exchange for her promise to influence the members of the medical and social expert commission (MSEC) to obtain a disability group. The scheme involved the transfer of the bribe through an intermediary.

This case is being investigated under the procedural guidance of the Nikopol District Prosecutor's Office. During the pre-trial investigation, irrefutable evidence of the suspect's guilt was collected.

Currently, a decision is being made regarding the measure of restraint for the suspect, who may be placed in custody. She faces significant penalties under part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for punishment for abuse of power or official position.
