In Kryvyi Rih, poachers were uncovered for catching over 1000 kilograms of fish using nets. This was reported by "Vydomo" referencing the Dnipropetrovsk Fish Protection Patrol.
On October 30, the fish patrol of Dnipropetrovsk region apprehended 6 violators who were mass harvesting aquatic biological resources at the South Reservoir near the village of Veseloe in the Kryvyi Rih district.
The offenders were fishing from 3 wooden boats using 13 nets with a total length of 1.7 km. They managed to catch 1104 kg of fish. The catch of these fish marauders included 350 bighead carps, 13 breams, and 1 carp.
The total amount charged to the poachers for the damage to fish stocks reached nearly 1.3 million UAH.

Protocols on administrative offenses under part 4 of article 85 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses have been drawn up against the individuals. Additionally, a crime scene investigation team from the National Police has been called to the location. Currently, the question of initiating criminal proceedings under article 249 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal fishing, hunting, or other aquatic resource extraction) is being considered. The boats and fishing gear have been seized by the investigator. The illegally caught fish has been handed over to an economic entity with which a responsible storage agreement has been concluded.
