In a YouTube interview with TSN, Education Minister Oksen Lisovoy discussed the current situation. He clarified that mass layoffs of teachers are not on the agenda.
In fact, he predicted that Ukraine may soon face a shortage of educators.
Many experienced teachers are retiring, changing careers, or seeking opportunities abroad, often due to better pay.
Statistics indicate that the teaching staff has decreased by approximately 10,000 educators. However, some regions are experiencing shortages, particularly in critical subjects such as mathematics, English, and computer science. Lisovoy assured that despite these challenges, teachers who remain in the profession are highly valued and in demand.
