The police in Pyatykhatky apprehended two men for stealing equipment from the railway. The suspects damaged relay cabinets from which they stole equipment that ensures the safety of train movements. This was reported by "Vidomo," citing the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region.
Investigators found that in September and October, the young men committed three thefts at different railway stations. Their actions caused disruptions in train schedules.
Through investigative measures, law enforcement identified and detained the two suspects. They turned out to be residents of a village in the Kamensky district, aged 18 and 21.
As a result of the theft, the offenders caused property damage to the community exceeding 90,000 hryvnias.
On October 28, the suspects were informed of their charges for committing criminal offenses under part 4 of article 185 (theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Additionally, law enforcement is investigating the suspects' involvement in similar crimes that occurred in the area.
