In Dnipropetrovsk region, a man stole 40,000 UAH from his neighbor's house while she was asleep.

A 33-year-old local resident has been detained in Pokrov, Dnipropetrovsk region, for stealing from his elderly neighbor. This was reported by "Vydomo," referencing the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region.

The incident occurred on November 5.

The 73-year-old woman reported that while she was sleeping at night, her phone, cash, and pension card were stolen. Investigators determined that the crime was committed by a man living in the same building as the victim.

After stealing the phone, the next morning he used a payment service to top up his girlfriend's mobile phone by 3,500 hryvnias. He then changed the PIN code on the stolen card and withdrew all of the woman's savings through several transactions. The total amount of damage exceeded 40,000 hryvnias.

The suspect has currently been notified of the charges against him.
