In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a company sold substandard bulletproof vests to the security service. As a result, a court hearing took place. This was reported by "Vідомо," citing the relevant verdict, published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.

In September of last year, the security police department in the Kharkiv region ordered 120 vests from the private enterprise "Strela" at a price of 4,692 UAH each and 120 sets of fourth-class protective plates from the LLC OP "Debora-Elektro" at 2,700 UAH each.

In July 2024, an investigator from the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR) found that the bulletproof vests failed ballistic tests and did not meet the fourth-class protection standards. Furthermore, they lacked factory markings.

Despite the confirmation provided by the private enterprise "Strela" from the certification body GP "Kryvbassstandartmetrology" regarding the compliance of the ballistic plates with the fourth-class anti-ricochet protection, the court reached a different conclusion, establishing that during the warranty period, the security police discovered hidden defects in the product, which prevented them from using the ballistic plates as intended.

Additionally, according to an expert examination by the Kharkiv Scientific Research Expert and Forensic Center, the liquidation value of the bulletproof vests is zero, with asset losses amounting to 887 thousand UAH.

The court also determined that the failure of the bulletproof vests significantly does not meet the requirements, which is grounds for rejecting the entire batch. Since the security police received the bulletproof vests during martial law, the court believes this poses a threat to the lives and health of individuals, which is unacceptable.

Therefore, the court ruled to recover 887 thousand UAH in damages and a 62 thousand UAH fine from the private enterprise "Strela."
