An official from the Dnipro City Council has been exposed for embezzling over 3.5 million UAH during the procurement of generators. This was reported by "Vidomo," citing the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the director of one of the departments of the Dnipro City Council intentionally failed to ensure proper and effective use of budget funds when purchasing generators for military needs. He acquired equipment at knowingly inflated prices.
The procurement of generators was carried out in accordance with the "Program for Supporting the Territorial Defense of the City of Dnipro for 2022-2026."
As a result of the suspect's illegal actions, the local budget suffered damages exceeding 3.5 million UAH.
Under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense in the Eastern Region, the official has been informed of the suspicion for embezzlement of another's property through abuse of office (Part 4 and Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The question of choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.
